Among Us
A spaceship crew fixes the wiring while traitors hide among them. In Among Us up to three players are Impostors, who only pretend to work, and kill. Someone finds a body, a meeting starts, and a vote throws a player out.

The idea came from Mafia, which an Innersloth co-founder had played since he was a kid, and from the film The Thing. The game was first meant for players in the same room, so it had no sound. The noise of a kill would have given the Impostor away.
It launched on phones in June 2018 and averaged 30 to 50 people playing at once. The team nearly dropped the project several times, but kept going for a small, vocal community and added online play.
According to the developers, in July 2020 the streamer Sodapoppin was the first to make it popular on Twitch, others followed, and by late September it peaked at 3.8 million players at once. That same month the team canceled Among Us 2 to rework the original's code.
Some reviewers admitted that playing Impostor is more fun, and another enjoyed games with strangers less than with friends. Players give it 92% positive across 663,148 reviews, and critics 85 on Metacritic. On our Recommended Score it ranks 440 of 4,736 games.
