Maps were never sold here. After the loot box outrage around Star Wars Battlefront II, DICE dropped the Premium Pass, and new maps and weapons reached everyone for free in Tides of War seasons. That is how the war story The Last Tiger arrived in December 2018, the only one told from the German side, through the eyes of a Tiger tank crew.
The game sold 7.3 million copies in 2018, yet EA said sales fell short of expectations. In April 2020 DICE announced that the summer update would be the last major one, with no new maps, weapons or factions after it. It came out on June 4.
Critics praised the gameplay and the new multiplayer modes but faulted the thin content at launch and the lack of new ideas. Players leave 70% positive out of 237,856 reviews, critics give it 81 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #1,202 of 4,736 games.
