Hollow Knight: Silksong
In the metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong you play Hornet, who is captured and taken to the kingdom of Pharloom, and you fight your way with her to the Citadel. Hornet moves more acrobatically than the hero of the first game and spends silk both on healing and on skills.

Silksong began as an add-on that would let you play as Hornet. It was promised in 2014 during the first game's Kickstarter, but it grew into a game of its own, and the Team Cherry studio did not grow in the meantime.
The fan channel Daily Silksong News posted a video every day, nearly 1,700 by release, and only 48 of them had any real news.
On launch day, 4 September 2025, Steam, the eShop, the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store all ran into errors. By December 2025, Team Cherry said, it had sold more than seven million copies.
Critics found Silksong harder than the first game. Some enjoyed that, others found it exhausting. Within days players released mods that make the game easier, and at The Steam Awards 2025 it took Game of the Year. Players leave 89% positive out of 391,096 reviews, critics give it 90 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #38 of 4,736 games.
Liked it? Go back to Hollow Knight, where Hornet tests the hero in battle, and try Nine Sols, where you deflect enemy blows in a world of Taoism and cyberpunk.
