INSIDE
The boy in INSIDE makes his way through a grey, almost colorless world where he can be shot, drowned or mauled by dogs. He solves puzzles with his own hands, and sometimes with other bodies, which he controls through a strange device. The game is nearly silent, which makes every sound count.

Composer Martin Stig Andersen didn't want to write a regular soundtrack. Instead, he ran sound through a human skull and recorded what came out. The boy's chest movements are tied to the sound of his breathing, which comes out calm or panicked depending on where he is. Some puzzles are built directly on audio cues.
Playdead started on INSIDE a few months after LIMBO came out and reused material from it. The deaths are more graphic here, and in the US the game got a Mature rating instead of the Teen rating its predecessor had.
It was met with acclaim and called a worthy successor to LIMBO. It's short, though, and one reviewer finished it in a single sitting of about three and a half hours. Critics give it 87 on Metacritic, and players 97% positive across 70,385 reviews. On our Recommended Score it ranks 68 of 4,736 games.
Liked it? Try LIMBO, Playdead's first game, where a boy searches for his sister in a black and white world, and Little Nightmares, where a hungry little girl escapes an underwater vessel full of monsters.
