Path of Exile 2
In Path of Exile 2 you mow down monsters by the crowd from a top-down view, as in any isometric action RPG. Bosses are another matter. They demand precise timing and positioning, and a dodge roll, new to the sequel, gets you out of the way.

It was not always meant to be its own game. In November 2019 Grinding Gear Games announced it as a new campaign inside Path of Exile, with an endgame shared by both. In 2023 the studio changed course and made the sequel standalone.
The game entered early access on December 6, 2024, with six of its twelve classes and three of its six acts. Over the first weekend more than half a million people played it at once on Steam.
Not everyone took to the difficulty. In April 2025 the Dawn of the Hunt update made monsters tougher and weakened the player's allies, Steam reviews slid to Mixed, and game director Mark Roberts admitted to blatant mistakes.
Early access reviews praised the bosses. PCGamesN called them the real star of the game, and Gaming Trend the best in any ARPG. Critics give it 88.3 on OpenCritic; players leave 76% positive out of 169,012 reviews. By our Recommended Score it is #993 of 4,736 games.
Liked it? Try Last Epoch, an action RPG about traveling through time, and Grim Dawn, with a dark world in the spirit of the Victorian era.
