Persona 4 Golden

Golden could have shipped cut down. Atlus first planned to bring the 2008 game to the PSP, as with Persona 3, which would have meant removing some features. The PlayStation Vita had enough power to expand it instead. It gained a new heroine, a girl who has lost her memory, two more social links, new Personas and anime cutscenes.

On PC, Golden was announced and released on the same day, June 13, 2020. It was the first core Persona game outside PlayStation. Sega called sales significantly higher than expected and promised to push harder on bringing older games to Steam. On June 30, 2021 Atlus announced that the PC version had sold a million copies.

If slow starts wear you down, note that several reviewers already faulted the original for its unhurried plot. Players leave 97% positive out of 71,873 reviews, critics give it 87 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #82 of 4,736 games.
