Behind each room is the story of a death that you play through yourself, and the genre and controls change wildly from one story to the next.

It began with scuba diving. Creative director Ian Dallas built the game on his own experience as a diver, but telling a story that way kept running into trouble. The way out came from an image that popped into his head. A shark falls into a forest while a child says "and suddenly I was a shark." It grew into the game's first bedroom.
When Sony dropped the project, Annapurna Interactive picked it up and gave the team more time. That saved the scene where a cannery worker chops fish on one half of the screen while wandering through his daydreams on the other, and you have to steer both at once.
In 2018 it won the BAFTA for best game of 2017. Critics praised the storytelling, though one reviewer had to forgive the limited interactivity. Players leave 95% positive out of 47,631 reviews, and critics give it 89 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #91 of 4,736 games.
