BioShock Remastered
BioShock Remastered takes you back to Rapture, the underwater city of the 2007 BioShock, now with higher-resolution textures and new effects. The remaster came out in September 2016 as part of BioShock: The Collection. Owners of the original on PC got it for free.

The main addition is hidden in Rapture itself. Golden film reels are tucked away around the levels, and the ones you find unlock episodes of Imagining BioShock, a video series with creative director Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson. One of them covers how focus groups affected part of the development before the game came out.
The PC launch was bumpy. Players found that the remaster kept old bugs and dropped some graphics options unless you edited the config files. In early October 2016, 2K released a patch meant to fix the missing graphics options and the crashes.
Reviewers felt the atmosphere had survived intact, though one still found the graphics dated next to modern games. Some critics regretted that most of the collection's improvements went to the first BioShock and less to its sequels. Players leave 83% positive out of 52,960 reviews. By our Recommended Score it is #23 of 4,736 games.
