On Kickstarter in 2015 Larian hit its goal of 500,000 dollars in under 12 hours and raised more than two million in total. On launch day, September 14, 2017, the power went out across all of Ghent, where the studio works, and the computer for uploading the build to Steam would not boot.
Critics received it with acclaim, though one reviewer felt its big ambitions never came together into a whole. Players leave 95% positive out of 181,902 reviews, critics give it 93 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #27 of 4,736 games.
