Baldur's Gate 3
In Baldur's Gate 3 you lead a party of heroes through turn-based fights and conversations, and a roll of a twenty-sided die decides how things go, just like in Dungeons & Dragons. A third game in the series was already being made in the early 2000s, but in 2003 the Black Isle Studios project was cancelled when Interplay lost the rights to D&D games on PC.

Larian Studios went to Wizards of the Coast, the owners of D&D, at the end of 2014 and was turned down. In 2017 Wizards came back on their own and asked whether the studio still wanted to make the game. It did.
The first act opened in early access in October 2020, and the full game came out on PC in August 2023. In 2024 it became the first game to win Game of the Year at all five major ceremonies, from The Game Awards to BAFTA.
Up to four people can play together online, or two in split screen. Keep in mind that at launch one reviewer found the third act less polished than the first two. Players leave 96% positive out of 760,599 reviews, critics give it 96 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #1 of 4,736 games.
