There are now two paths, down through the Underworld or up to Olympus. There is also a magick bar that powers slower, stronger attacks.
Logan Cunningham came back as Hades and also voiced Chronos.
This is the first sequel Supergiant has ever made. Early access opened in May 2024, and the full game came out on 25 September 2025. At The Game Awards 2025 it won Best Action Game.
Critics praised the gameplay, the art, the music and the voice acting. Some reviewers were let down by the true ending, and about a month after release Supergiant added scenes to it. If you are wary of the difficulty, God Mode is back from the first game, with damage resistance that starts at 20% and grows by 2% with each failed run, up to 80%. Players leave 95% positive out of 115,663 reviews, critics give it 94 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #17 of 4,736 games.
