The game has more than 20,000 lines of dialogue, all of them voiced. Darren Korb voices Zagreus and also wrote the music, while Logan Cunningham is the voice of Hades.

In 2021 Hades took the top prizes at BAFTA and GDC, and that December it became the first game to win a Hugo Award. The Hugos honour the best science fiction and fantasy works of the year.

If you worry it will be too hard, there is a God Mode: Zagreus gets stronger after every failed run. Critics praised the story, characters, gameplay and music, though one reviewer felt the combat sometimes came down to button mashing.
