Slay the Spire
Enemies in Slay the Spire tell you in advance what they will do next turn. In this card roguelike you climb a spire and build a deck. An icon over each enemy says whether it will attack and for how much, block, or weaken you.

At first enemies did not show their next move, but that did not suit a roguelike with permadeath. Then attack strength was shown with different weapons, without exact numbers. Testers found the numbers more engaging and did not want to memorise what each symbol meant, so the numbers stayed.
The balance was tuned with data. A server logged every player choice, and two numbers mattered most: how often a card is picked and how often it ends up in winning decks. A card that copies other cards was hardly ever picked at first, and after a buff it made infinite combos far too easy.
Players leave 97% positive out of 193,230 reviews, critics give it 89 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #51 of 4,736 games.
