For that you carry tasers, pepper spray and beanbag shotguns, and an arrest scores more than a kill. Suspects play dead, fake a surrender and then draw a weapon, or hide behind bystanders.
In the main single-player mode your officers have a mental state. It wears down after every mission, faster when suspects are killed or a teammate dies. Worn-out officers go to therapy, and those it fails to help resign.
The game is often called a spiritual successor to the SWAT series. In 2025, to reach consoles, the studio toned down dismemberment and nudity, PC included, and players answered with a wave of negative Steam reviews.
You can play with AI teammates or online with up to five players. The themes are grim, from human trafficking to mass shootings, and one reviewer back in early access found the realism too shallow. Players leave 79% positive out of 268,487 reviews; critics give it 79 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #498 of 4,736 games.
