It was the first Call of Duty on Steam since WWII in 2017. The game made a billion dollars in ten days, faster than any other entry. And the expansion Activision had planned for it grew into a standalone Modern Warfare III.
Several critics saw the campaign as a step back from 2019, while the multiplayer got a warmer reception. Players on Steam leave 46% positive out of 28,062 reviews, and critics give it 79 on Metacritic. In our Recommended Score it ranks 3,769 of 4,736 games.
