Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem has two heroes, and they play nothing alike. FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft is investigating deaths among Raccoon City survivors. She is short on supplies and inventory space, and now and then a monster stalks her, one you are better off hiding from. Series veteran Leon Kennedy relies on his guns and has more supplies. Grace defaults to first person and Leon to third, but you can switch views.

Requiem didn't start out this way. Director Koshi Nakanishi says the team spent some time trying an online Resident Evil and an open-world one, then realised fans wanted something else and went back to the drawing board.
Within five days of its February 2026 release, sales passed five million copies. Critics received the game warmly. Still, for one reviewer, Rhodes Hill echoed the Resident Evil 2 police station so closely that the game felt like a retread, and another was let down by the bosses near the end. Players leave 95% positive out of 110,122 reviews; critics give it 92 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #41 of 4,736 games.
Liked it? Try Resident Evil 7 Biohazard from the same director, where the main series first switched to first person, and the Resident Evil 2 remake, where an Umbrella bioweapon follows you around the police station and stays out only of the safe rooms.
