Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

The name is a contraction of the Japanese for "one-armed wolf". Shadows Die Twice was at first only a slogan for the teaser, but Activision asked to keep it.
It all started with Tenchu, a stealth series published by FromSoftware. The team considered a sequel, but the game quickly outgrew the idea. It moved away from Dark Souls too. There is no character creation, no levelling of a range of stats and no real-time multiplayer.
Many critics praised the combat, while the difficulty split players and journalists alike. One reviewer called it infuriating, and a PC Gamer writer said he could not beat the final boss without a mod that changes the hero's speed. In 2019 Sekiro won Game of the Year at The Game Awards. Players leave 95% positive out of 261,919 reviews, critics give it 88 on Metacritic. By our Recommended Score it is #52 of 4,736 games.
Liked it? Next, try DARK SOULS III, where you create a character, level up stats and play online, and ELDEN RING, where, as some reviewers put it, you can avoid a tough enemy and come back later.
