In the football sim EA SPORTS FC 26, a match runs on one of two sets of physics. Ultimate Team, Clubs and Online Seasons use Competitive, where passing and dribbling are quicker, the ball bounces back less after tackles, and keepers push it away from goal. Career defaults to Authentic, with slower dribbling, weather and less predictable rebounds.

Manager Career gained challenges you pick yourself, such as winning the Treble, and unexpected events like a player falling ill. In Player Career you choose an archetype, the style your player grows into.
In May 2026 EA announced a 48-team World Cup tournament, due on 4 June. Without a FIFA licence the mode is called The World's Game, and five of its national teams have made-up squads.
